How to print a shifter – 3D Printing

Don’t you hate it when you rock up to the store and you need one tool or piece of gear to get a job finished and they don’t have it.  You then have to walk around in circles all over site trying to beg, borrow or steal it from someone else, meanwhile you quickly lose interest in the job all together.

In this movie they print a fully functioning 12 inch shifter.  The time may be coming where if stores don’t have an item, instead of waiting 3 days or even a few weeks for the delivery lead time, they can just print it.  The technology was designed for making replacement parts for breakdowns whilst in space, so it’s probably a while off for the construction industry yet, but we’ll see.
