Have you got a passion for four wheel driving? Well the Far North Queensland Offroad Challenge might be for you. It’s an open 4×4 competition in Mareeba, west of Cairns. There isn’t much that beats a long weekend camping out in the scrub, except when you throw in a bunch of competitive drivers and their suped up machines on some hairy looking goat tracks.
The FNQ Offroad Challenge is a three day event, from Saturday 9th of June to Monday 11th of June. It’s a family friendly event, with free entry to kids under the ages of 12. Camping costs the grown ups $15 a night or $40 for the whole weekend. FNQ is a multistage competition and already has 20 teams registered, so your gonna get plenty of racing action. Saturday night is the big night with a MC for the music arranged and a big bon fire to set the mood for some fun.
