Thiess, John Holland and Dragados has been awarded the $1.15 billion tunnelling contract.  The contract involves building 15 km of twin tunnels from Bella Vista to Epping – the longest railway tunnels to ever be built in Australia.  The contract also includes excavation and civil works for five new stations at Cherrybrook, Castle Hill, Showground, Norwest and Bella Vista, and two service facilities.

Skytrain Contract :

Impregilo-Salini JV has been awarded the $340 million skytrain contract.  This contract will involve building the 4 km skytrain between Bella Vista and Rouse Hill, along with other surface works like bridges, embankments and railway cuttings.

Operations, Trains and Systems Contract :

The NSW Government has announced that the Northwest Rapid Transit consortium has been selected as the operator to deliver the North West Rail Link’s operations contract.  The consortium is made up of: MTR Corporation (Australia), John Holland, Leighton Contractors, UGL Rail Services and Plenary Group.  This contract will involve building stations, car parks, supplying trains, installing tracks, converting the Epping to Chatswood rail link to rapid transit, as well as operating the new link.
