About the Queensland Schools Project

The Queensland Schools Project is an infrastructure and maintenance package of eight Prep–6 primary schools and two 7–12 secondary schools in rapidly developing areas in South East Queensland (i.e. Brisbane, Gold Coast, Ipswich and the Moreton local government areas).

The first schools will open for commencement of the 2015 academic year. This will be followed by schools opening in 2016 and 2017.

Watpac has been awarded $350 million contract to build the Queensland schools project.  The anticipated five-year construction program will commence in January 2014 and is expected to create more than 3,000 jobs throughout the life of the project.

The Queensland Schools PPP will see the delivery of the Queensland schools project over five years, in Pimpama, Burpengary, Pallara, Ripley Valley, Springfield, Griffin, Bellbird Park,Caboolture and Redbank Plains.

Companies Involved with the Queensland Schools Project

Watpac Has been announced the building contractor under the Public Private Partnership agreement, their component of the works program is valued at $350 million and involves the design and construction of new schools.

Note : There may be sub-contractoring companies involved in different phases of construction of the Queensland schools project.  This article will be updated with these sub-contracting companies as announcements are made.

Queensland Schools Project Union Enterprise Bargaining Agreements

An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.

 At this stage of the project no EBA’s can be found, as they are found they will be uploaded into this article.
