About the Sunshine Coast Solar Farm Project

The Sunshine Coast Council is working towards constructing a 15 megawatt (MW) solar farm on council-owned land at Valdora.

Quick Facts:

  • Australia’s first local government organisation to build a utility scale solar farm to offset its entire electricity consumption.
  • 15 megawatt (MW) solar farm installed at 909 Yandina-Coolum Road, Valdora
  • more than 57,000 solar panels generating electricity into Energex’s electricity network
  • Unknown how many workers will be required
  • Construction is anticipated to occur in the second half of 2016
  • Commissioning to be finalised mid-2017
  • Downer Group to designing, constructing, operating and maintaining worth about $37m
  • Downer Group to operate and maintain for two years, with Council options for another three years

Sunshine Coast Solar Farm Project Union Greenfields Enterprise Bargaining Agreements

An Enterprise Bargaining Agreement (EBA) is a collective industrial agreement between either an employer and a trade union acting on behalf of employees or an employer and employees acting for themselves.

At this stage of the project no EBA’s are available for this Project.  As any EBA’s are released they will be updated into this article.
