UEEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control Course
The Certificate III course is aimed at those who would like to enhance their PLC, HMI and Process Instrumentation skills giving them the edge to enter the Oil & Gas Industry or any industry of preference – PLC interfaces with field instrumentation. The candidate will need to complete a log sheet documenting hours of work experience in the instrumentation field to attain this full qualification.

SCOPE:
This qualification provides competencies to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain systems and devices for measurement and recording of physical/chemical phenomenon and related process control.
ELIGIBILITY FOR COURSE ENROLMENT:
A current ‘Unrestricted Electricians’ licence; current work experience.
REQUIREMENT TO ACHIEVE THE FULL QUALIFICATION – UEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control:
You will be issued with a Registration and Work Recognition (RWR) form which needs to be completed prior to issuance of the Certificate of qualification. It is mandatory requirement that your work experience is signed off by your Work place supervisor.
PATHWAYS:
Option 1/ If you are an Electrician with limited / no Instrumentation experience, we recommend you complete UEE40411 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation. This will give you the exposure you require to apply for work in Instrumentation and then proceed onto UEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control:
- Unrestricted Electricians Licence + 14 days of intensive training;
- Equals – UEE40411 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation. Then obtain Instrumentation work experience;
- Plus – 1 Week of intensive training + Complete & sign off the RWR form;
- Equals – UEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
Option 2/ If you currently hold UEE40411 – Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation:
- Unrestricted Electricians Licence + UEE40411 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation;
- Plus – Obtain Instrumentation work experience;
- Plus – 1 week of intensive training + Complete & sign off the RWR from;
- Equals – UEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.
Option 3/ If you can show evidence of extensive Instrumentation experience:
- Unrestricted Electricians Licence;
- Plus – 2 weeks of intensive training + complete & sign off the RWR form;
- Equals – UEE31211 Certificate III in Instrumentation and Control.

Graduates who are successfully competent in both theoretical and practical training, completing all units of competency in the training package and providing their ‘Unrestricted Electricians’ licence, Credit transfer from UEE40411 Certificate IV in Electrical Instrumentation and their RWR form (signed off by their work supervisor and verified by TSA) will receive this qualification.
