Rigging Licence Course – Advanced (RA)
Advanced rigging is the use of mechanical loadshifting equipment and associated gear to move, place or secure a load including plant equipment or members of a building or structure and includes rigging of gin poles, flying foxes and cable ways, guyed derricks and structures, and suspended scaffolds and fabricated hung scaffolds. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

NOTE: This unit has a pre-requisite requirement. This requirement may be met by either the successful completion of the unit CPCCLRG3002A Licence to perform rigging intermediate level or holding a valid licence for intermediate rigging.

Outcome
The course is competency based, and successful applicants who attain the necessary competence will be eligible to apply for the issue of a National High Risk Licence via their State Authority. Assessment is against the National Standard and Assessment Instruments, which are common in all states and territories.
Unit Description
CPCCLRG4001A – Licence to perform rigging advanced level
This unit specifies the outcomes required to perform rigging work at the advanced level, which includes all the outcomes for rigging work at the basic and intermediate levels, and also includes rigging of gin poles, flying foxes and cable ways, guyed derricks and structures, and suspended scaffolds and fabricated hung scaffolds for licensing purposes.
Elements and Performance Criteria
This licence training course is aligned to the national standards to ensure that the operator attains the skills required to operate in a High Risk Work environment.
For Advanced Rigging including Dogging, Basic and Intermediate Rigging individuals will need to successfully complete the following areas:
- Swing stages and/or Bosuns Chairs:
- Gin Pole
- Powered winch activities:
- Span ropes:
- Hung or suspended prefabricated scaffold
